Talk about the issues. As hard as it might be, as a matter of fact don’t avoid the difficult topics. Similarly, the activities you suspect they are using to cover up their depression.
Fortunately, there are ways you as a parent can help. Firstly, listen. Don’t shut them down when they talk to you, even if they’re saying negative things about themselves.
One trigger of anxiety and depression is stress. Some stress is good for you. It helps keep you motivated and focused.
While youth in decades past left their peers at school or on the street, today’s teens are constantly interacting with their age group online. The pressure to fit in or to impress stays with them constantly.
Keep active in the day. This might sound obvious but, it can be hard to go to sleep if you don’t feel tired. The thing is, though, you still need sleep
Getting up and staying active means you’re far more likely to see and interact with others. This is extremely important during the formative years
Unfortunately, none of this helps to bring healing to those who are in need. What people need to understand is that clinical depression is not a case of a passing mood.
