Parents need to be aware of teens depression a serious condition that afflicts many adolescent. And unfortunately, many parents and even the school system. Are not able to recognize the warning signs or intervene in time to help their teen. It is important to understand why your teenager is experiencing sadness and what is causing it. Once you know why, you will be able to offer help and assistance that can improve the way they feel.

This time in their life is not only confusing, but it can cause their emotions to be overactive. Your child may be experiencing depression for a number of reasons and will display different symptoms than the next.

One way to tell the difference between being in a slump and simply hormones is by watching their mood to see if it changes with an improvement in their social or home life.
If it does not, it is likely your teen depressed. If you think your teen is depressed, you need to get them help right away to overcome before it become more serious. It is important for you to be by their side throughout this experience.

Depression is a serious concern. This makes it important for parents to be present during a teen’s growing years because sometimes, they try not to show it. It’s crucial that communication lines are open between parents & teens, that way if something like this happens, it could be addressed immediately.

This is a very helpful article for parents and teenagers. We tend to get too busy with a lot of things and we often neglect how are teenagers really feel.
Puberty and teenagery can be such a tough time! I try to be open and approachable for my girls and keep an eye out for any dramatic, substantial mood or attitude changes. Giving them a supportive outlet and safe space is important for us too.
